What personal data we collect and why
Contact form
When you fill in the form on the Contact page, we collect your name, email address and the content of the message you send us, as well as the IP address the form is submitted from, for security and spam-prevention purposes. We use this data solely to respond to your request (e.g. artist submissions, production enquiries, collaborations). Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to enquiries received, or taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
Newsletter sign-up / updates
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address via MailPoet to send you updates about new releases, artists and events. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email. Legal basis: consent.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos from YouTube, playlists from Spotify, posts from Instagram or Facebook). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Data submitted through the contact form is retained for as long as necessary to handle your request, and subsequently for a maximum of [e.g. 24 months], unless a longer retention period is required by law.
If you register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in your user profile. You can see, edit or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. Some of the service providers we use (e.g. Gravatar, embedding platforms such as YouTube and Spotify) may be based outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area; in such cases, the transfer takes place on the basis of adequate safeguards required by law (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure, including [e.g. HTTPS encryption, regular updates to the website and plugins, restricted access to the admin area].
