NATHALIE KING

Originating from Germany with French- Vietnamese roots, singer-songwriter Nathalie King is known for her sultry smooth low voice reminiscent of the true artists of the vintage jazz era. King’s music has been noted for its cinematic electro pop style; her sound expresses tragic themes like lost love, mental health as well as socio-critical topics.

She released her debut singles in 2016, which have received licensing placements in the TV Show ‘The Fosters’ and in a S’well water bottle ad. In the past, King has appeared regularly as a jazz singer on the Toronto music scene, and has since been focusing on writing original music. Graduating with a B.A. (Hons) degree in film and animation the artist produced and hand animated her 2019 music video to ‘Suckr for Love’, which has been officially selected and won at international film festivals including the Berlin Music Video Awards and the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. Her track ‘Beautiful Soul’ was licensed by 7-time Emmy Award winner Howard Hall’s for his sea documentary ‘Soul of the Ocean’.

During that same year, Nathalie’s songwriting and singing skills have been commissioned by Universal UK to write and sing 2 songs for their villainess album intended for trailer and promo placement opportunities. As well as doing voice work for commercial and TV such as NBC, King is currently working on a new EP revisiting a musical journey into unresolved childhood trauma together with Joseph Snook.
